Single Alternative Inspection Location (SAIL) Companies must keep all of their statutory registers at either their registered office address or at a Single Alternative Inspection Location (SAIL) based in England or Wales. A SAIL address is only required when a company wishes to hold its statutory records at a location other than the registered office. This situation would typically arise if we are company secretary and a client's statutory records are with us, but the client has opted to have their registered office at their trading address, or at their accountant's address - and not with us. We will therefore need to inform Companies House that the SAIL address is with us. Only one SAIL address is permitted and and all the statutory registers of a single type must be kept together at either the SAIL or registered office address. Our SAIL address service is only available (and free of charge) to our clients who have taken out our annual company secretarial subscription but who have opted to have their registered office elsewhere. |
